LEWISVILLE, TEXAS – Lewisville residents Jerry and Wendy Marshall have been chosen as the November 2017 good neighbors of the month, an award presented by Loving Community a local neighborhood advocacy group.

In 2012 the Marshalls moved from Denton, TX to Lewisville, TX and became an active part of the Rockbrook Town Home community. Their friendliness and civc mindedness led them to volunteering in local schools and to become active participants at the various neighborhood functions.

Jim Mustain, Executive Director of Loving Community says of Jerry & Wendy, “You can always count on them. They are the kind of people who value others and are willing to give back whether through their time, hospitality skills, or Wendy’s famous and deliciously baked cookies!”

Both Jerry and Wendy are recently retired from careers with Mrs. Baird’s Bakery and the Peterbuilt Corporation. Jerry is originally from Ohio and Wendy from Saskatchewan, Canada. Their jobs and escaping the cold weather brought them south to Texas.

Their volunteering activities have ranged from Durham Middle School where they welcomed students back at the beginning of the school year, to singing in the annual Christmas program at the Arbor House Memory Care Center, to baking dozens of cookies for community events.

Sadly for their neighbors in Rockbrook, Jerry & Wendy have recently announced their plans to move even further south and will begin a new adventure as ex-pats in Cuenca, Ecquador. One thing is for sure, whatever location they chose to live, their neighborhood will be enriched by the good hears and service of Jerry & Wendy.
